On your computer and Android phone the apps set your status automatically — from the app you are using, detected on your device. Window titles, addresses and files never leave it.

First launch

The beta builds are not yet signed with a paid certificate, so your system warns you once:

  1. Windows (SmartScreen): click More info, then Run anyway. The installer needs no administrator rights.
  2. macOS: the first launch is blocked. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway next to “Check Your Friend”.
  3. Android: open the downloaded file and allow your browser to install unknown apps when asked. Then allow usage access in the app — it only tells the app which app is in front.

Browser extension

Optional, for the desktop app: tells study sites from video sites. Only the site name is used, never in private windows. The Firefox version is being reviewed by Mozilla; Chrome follows. As soon as it is available, the link appears here.

No app needed: everything also works in the browser at checkyourfriend.app.
